What do you believe is the role of the City Council in our community?
Carmel’s City Council is responsible for ensuring Carmel’s future is strong by making responsible decisions managing the city’s finances. The council should be transparent in the way they operate and make sure that all residents understand the details of decisions that are made. These decisions should protect the quality of life and investments residents and businesses have made in the community by ensuring taxes stay low.
What experiences and qualities do you think makes you the best candidate for this position?
I have been the President of the Carmel Clay Board of Parks and Recreation for the last six years, and a board member for the last 13 years. I have also been a strong supporter of Carmel’s central core redevelopment and played a role in the building and development of the Center for the Performing Arts and Carmel’s Arts & Design District. My finance background will ensure we can maintain and improve quality of life amenities while keeping Carmel’s taxes low.
How will you work with OneZone Chamber to ensure a thriving business community?
I believe that continued growth is one of the keys to Carmel’s future success, and OneZone must have a strong voice in that process. We need to make sure that the city and OneZone work together to support the needs of businesses in the community while planning together to meet the needs of the future. Without a strong relationship, the success we have seen in the past will not be possible in the future.
